Albany, NY to HOME

Though tempted to push through and get home a day before we'd planned to, we are happy that we CSed our final night on the road.  We had a great night of talking and learning about travels to Central America with the family with whom we surfed.

The van, our 1998 Toyota Sienna made it -- no problems at all 7,745.2 miles.  Littleton to the Las Vegas turn-around and back.

In the photo above, Rob is writing our very last "Thank You" to our hosts.  We tried to place them in conspicuous locations in our hosts' homes so that they'd discover them soon after our departure.

Finally, home . . .

Next trip:  Columbus Day Weekend in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  We'll be needing those passports!

Frewsburg, NY to Albany, NY

Mel bid us goodbye.

Here we are at Corning Glass Studio, getting suited up to work glass.

Asher flame-working a bead.

 Salem sand-blasting a jar.

Greta fusing a small mirror.

And, little Abram, glass-blowing a table-top sculpture.

And, our very last giant sandwich, our favorite on-the-road dinner.

And, our very last Couchsurfing surf.

 Tomorrow, HOME!

Chicago, IL to Frewsburg, NY

We were up at 4:00 and out of Chicago a half hour later.

It was a long day on the road and we had to kick the bickering children out of the van a few times.  See how far away they are?

See how unhappy Jenna looks?

We stopped for a couple of hours at Geneva State Park in Ohio.  Due to high bacteria levels, the children were unable to swim.

Happy to see another of our 2010 CSing hosts, Mel.

Tomorrow, off to Corning . . .

Day 2 Chicago

Waiting for the "L"

Outside the Art Institute.  Abram was NOT supposed to be under the lion.

Though, apparently, taking pictures inside the museum was no problem at all.

Th children were antagonizing each other, so Jenna got these two (and the camera).

A nice shot of me and Rob recently.  It's been a long trip.

This painting reminded us of the Badlands of South Dakota.

And this one of southern Wyoming.

On the way to Pizzeria Uno, the first and the original.
At Uno's:

Then, back to Randy's for a swim in Lake Michigan.
